Most procurement decisions are not made on spec sheets. They're made on trust. In safety equipment, what you perceive is as important as what you measure. If a piece of gear doesn't feel reliable, workers won't use it. And if it doesn't get used, all the certifications in the world don't matter.

According to NFPA 10, fire extinguishers need regular maintenance and hydrostatic testing. That's not a suggestion; it's a compliance requirement. The brand that makes it easy to follow the lifecycle is the brand that actually helps you stay safe.
The Counterargument: "We Can't Afford Premium"
I get it. Budgets are real. I work with companies where a $4 difference per unit matters over a 50,000-unit order. So yes, I push back on "good enough." Because in safety, what you perceive is what you get. Period.
